Bridging the history of graphic design with contemporary practices through an accordion timeline that highlights the works of a major 20th century designer and a designer of choice along with the context of their times.
Exploring the intersection of graphic design and illustration through a 6 yards (9x10 inches, 24 pages) illustration that explore the mental state of dreaming and observing as if travelling through time and space in the gallery of history of graphic design.

Katherine McCoy’s section was color-coded with light background and dark typography while Gydient’s section was treated with dark background to highlight her future-forward approach to design.
The architecture in the background illustration was directly inspired by each designer background. For McCoy, I used very minimal, geometric block to capture the vibe of New York as a metropolis. On the other hand, with Gydient, I used more organic elements to mirror the “messy” and mellow nature of Ha Noi.
